Helping more youth navigate the journey ahead

In 1970, the Children’s Attention Home was established by the community to provide a safe, nurturing home for children left with nowhere to turn. Over five decades later, the Home has served over 9,000 youth, now caring for up to 32 youth and young adults daily.

Today, too many youth are entering and leaving foster care without the necessary support, making them vulnerable to risks such as sex trafficking, gang and drug activity, and justice system involvement.

To provide stability and life-changing opportunities for more teens, youth, and young adults, the Home is embarking on a $5 million campaign to expand and enhance its range of services and build a financially sustainable future.

To expand and enhance facilities and programs, the Home's goal is to raise...

Expand & Renovate Campus

Creating the right physical spaces is critical to providing the right care for each child at the right time.

The Home is planning to build two new residential-style homes to provide affordable housing for up to 16 young adults at a time ages 18+ and open space to grow and expand existing programs.

Additionally, the Home’s 20-year-old campus needs updates and improvements to combat the wear and tear of daily use.

By offering more services in one place, the youth coming to the Home can experience fewer placements, higher quality of care, and better chances for long-term success.

To expand access, improve quality, and care for more youth with complex trauma and mental health diagnoses, the Home needs funding and resources to launch new programs, improve existing programs, provide training and livable wages for staff at all levels, and attract talent for higher level positions.
