Our Team

Tara Burgess was named the Interim Executive Director for the Children’s Attention Home in April of 2024. In this role, Tara leads the Home’s efforts in delivering industry-leading care and operations, developing targeted programs and services, and advancing the Home’s community presence across service areas. Since 2014, Tara has served in various roles at the Home, including Grants Manager, Associate Director of Finance & Grants, and most recently Director of Finance & Operations, giving her unique experience and perspective in her chief leadership role.

With a gift for strategic thinking and a passion for people, Tara brings a creative, solutionfocused approach to leadership and prioritizes the growth and development of staff. In her last six years as a Director, Tara has led the execution of major campus improvement projects, developed key relationships with funders and grantors, restructured the Home’s financial and payroll systems, implemented new technology systems, and provided critical support for personnel and programmatic functions. She was instrumental in the Home’s reaccreditation process through the Council on Accreditation in 2021 and the launch of both the Home’s Crossroads Program in 2017 and its Day Services Program in 2023.

Prior to joining the Children’s Attention Home, Tara worked as a Paralegal with focuses in real estate, probate, and family law. Tara holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, attending concerts and theatrical productions, and spending time with her husband, David, and their three children
