This week, several youth at the Home are stepping into that opportunity as they enter a newly renovated and fully furnished space. Enhanced lighting, fresh paint, and thoughtful updates in Morris Cottage have created a brighter, more welcoming environment, made possible by support from groups like the Herbert and Anna Lutz Foundation. Shaped by feedback from both youth and the teammates who support them, these improvements are already making a meaningful difference in daily life, fostering comfort and stability.

Youth in Morris Cottage are also settling into brand-new furniture in both shared spaces and bedrooms. From beds and dressers to tables and seating, each piece was selected with their daily routines in mind. To support youth well-being, a new den in each cottage offers a calm, inviting space to relax, recharge, and spend quiet time.

When spaces feel grounded and comfortable, it's easier to focus on what's next. That same heart is guiding the work happening up the hill, where new homes are taking shape to support healing, growth, and brighter days ahead.

As construction progresses, the next step is preparing these new homes to welcome young adults. Just like the updates in Morris Cottage, every piece is being chosen with intention—prioritizing comfort, durability, and the day-to-day needs of those who will call these spaces home.

Filling both homes will take about $82,000, covering the furniture in all bedrooms and shared living spaces. Each item will bring spaces together and support the moments that make a house feel like home. For instance:

Kitchen cart: $150 → creates a shared space for meals
Mattress: $225 → gives a young person a comfortable place to rest
Patio set: $600 → creates space to relax and connect outdoors
Bedroom desk & chair: $800 → supports studying, routines, and independence
