York Electric Cooperative Inc, a leader in providing safe, reliable, and affordable electricity to families and businesses in York, Chester, Cherokee, and Lancaster counties and the surrounding areas, also helps lead the charge in spreading the word of the Children Attention Home’s mission to those communities it serves. Through monetary donations, community outreach, and hands-on volunteer days, York Electric empowers brighter futures for the youth served at the Home.
As a committed supporter of Children’s Attention Home, York Electric Cooperative (YEC) has helped lead the charge in generating brighter futures for youth served at the Home through their generous support.
Employee Giving Fund 2016 campus revitalization, York Electric presented the Home a $20,000 check.
For over 13 years, YEC has powered the Home’s mission through their Operation Round Up program, employee donations, osted fundraisers supporting the Home, like the Teddy Bear Trot, and donated gift baskets for event auctions and raffles. Additionally, YEC’s Operation Round Up Trust Board granted funds to community partner Piedmont Music Therapy to bring the power of music to the youth at the Home through PMT’s therapeutic music program. Through various community outreach and volunteer projects over the years, the utility company’s employees have also gained a greater understanding of the Home’s work and impact.

York Electric Cooperative has had a passion and the privilege to partner with the Children’s Attention Home in multiple different ways,” shared Porter Gable, VP of Communications and Outreach. “Not only do our employees champion and identify with the invaluable support the Home provides for our community’s most vulnerable youth, but our members also recognize the important work the Home is doing, which is exemplified by yearly donations through our Operation Round Up program.”
