Over $210,000 Raised at A Taste of Magic

September 30, 2026

On August 29, the Home hosted its inaugural A Taste of Magic, bringing the community together for an unforgettable evening in support of the future Independent Living Program. More than 80 guests joined us, raising over $210,000 to support young adults as they take their next steps toward independence.

The idea behind A Taste of Magic was simple—to cultivate the wonder and curiosity sparked by a new experience, much like the Home seeks to create new opportunities and possibilities for the youth we serve. What came to life was a collaborative experience that brought together local chefs, local farms, a local magician, and countless community partners in support of the youth in the Home's care.

"A Taste of Magic was more than a meal," Chef Marshall Scarborough shared. "It was local talent and local generosity coming together to create opportunities for kids in our community."

Set against the backdrop of The Gathering Space, guests were welcomed into an evening of exceptional food, meaningful conversation, and moments of wonder. Guests enjoyed a four-course, chef's table-style dinner led by Chef Rob Masone, owner of Kounter, Kre8 Events, and Twisted Eats, alongside the talented Bojangles Culinary Innovation Team: Chef Marshall Scarborough, Chef Michael Krimmer, and Chef Abbey Riker. Throughout the evening, the chefs shared the creative and collaborative process behind the menu.

As the evening unfolded, guests heard stories about the impact of the Home and the vision behind our new independent living program. Following dinner, Bryan Saint brought moments of surprise, laughter, and wonder, leaving guests talking long after the evening ended.

The event brought together longtime supporters, new friends of the Home, sponsors, donors, volunteers, auction contributors, and community partners, all united by a shared commitment to creating brighter futures for young people. Through storytelling, generosity, and meaningful connections, guests gained a deeper understanding of how these new homes and programs will expand opportunities for young adults transitioning into independence.

Presented by Ron & Dawn Hartman and Warren & Mary Norman Foundation, A Taste of Magic was made possible by the generosity and dedication of so many. From our volunteers and generous sponsors to every guest and teammate, thank you for helping turn the night into a remarkable success!
