Kaleb's Experience at Children's Attention Home

I came to Children's Attention Home in April 2025, my first experience in care. I have built a relationship of trust with the staff. The staff showed me that they cared about me and my interest by taking me to wrestling practice five times per week and allowing me to participate in wrestling matches.

After graduating from high school, CAH allowed me to go on a beach trip for 7 days. The trip was awesome, a memory that I will remember the rest of my life. In January 2026, the staff at CAH encouraged me to apply for college and they supported me every step of the way. They assisted me with filing financial aid, completing the college application and turning in documentation to the college. In the Spring CAH staff took me on a tour of Lander University. The staff continued to check in with me, ensuring that my documents and financial aid were completed.

Next week, Wednesday, August 12, 2026, I leave for college. I was accepted at Lander University in Greenwood, SC. The donors at Children's Attention Home were awesome. I created a wish list, and all my needs on the wish list were granted to me. I am very appreciative to all the donors. As I enter my freshman year, I am ready for success.

My overall experience at the Children's Attention Home has been positive. I have become more vocal in speaking up for myself and I have more confidence.
