When crisis strikes – a leaking water line, a child in pain, a freezing winter night – the Lake Wylie Clover Mayday Project is often the first to respond. As a long-time partner of the Children’s Attention Home, the organization has stepped in to fund urgent needs, ensuring that youth receive the care they deserve.

From fire alarms to emergency dental care, the Mayday Project has stepped in when others couldn’t, filling the gaps that make all the difference. Each nonprofit that requests support from Mayday Project is carefully vetted through site visits and ongoing communication. A dedicated director works closely with partner organizations to validate requests quickly and ensure they align with the Project’s mission. Equally important, the Mayday Project partners only with organizations that share its commitment to uplifting vulnerable children and families.

For years, the Mayday Project has stepped in when time, resources, and options run out. Their focus isn’t on daily operations, but on the unpredictable moments that organizations sometimes can’t plan for. Just as the Home provides nurturing care and life-changing services to youth and families in need, Mayday’s focus is the same.

“We have been there for the Home, and we particularly derive satisfaction from knowing that we are helping children experiencing real challenges,” shared Roseann Stichnoth, Board Vice President for Lake Wylie Clover Mayday Project. “The Home has reached out to us many times in the past to discuss unexpected needs - we dialog to understand these needs and then can typically turn around an answer within a day or two. This is deeply valued by the Home and the other charities that we support. We are very grateful that we can support such worthy organizations as the Children's Attention Home.”

The Children’s Attention Home is incredibly grateful for the Mayday Project’s generosity and ongoing support of the Home’s mission. In a world full of uncertainty, it’s partnerships like these that remind us: it takes a village to care for a child in need—and the Mayday Project is always ready to answer that call. As the Home plans for its future, it's fortunate enough to have the Mayday Project as a lifeline.

About Lake Wylie Clover Mayday Project

The Lake Wylie/Clover Mayday Project began as an outreach program of River Hills Community Church to meet the needs of families in emergencies within the Clover School District. Since becoming an independent charitable organization in 2012, they have extended their support to others in need, especially the homeless and needy children within the York and Clover School Districts and surrounding communities.
