For many of us, attending a live show or going out to dinner is part of how we have fun, experience the world around us, and expand our perspectives. Through the community’s generous donations, the Home is able to provide these unique opportunities, enriching the life experiences of young adults and teens living at the Home and expanding their view of what is possible.
Recently, the teens and young adults living in the Home’s Independent Living Cottage had the exciting opportunity to attend a Cirque du Soleil show. Many of them had never heard of Cirque du Soleil, much less seen this type of show before. Throughout the performance, the expressions on the their faces shared the kids awe and amazement. They enjoyed stunts and were so excited to attend the show.
After the show, the group went to an hibachi grill for dinner, and it was a hit! None of them had ever been, and their favorite part was watching the food being cooked right in front of them. One resident stated, “This was the best outing ever!”.
