The Joy of a Shoebox

For November's community service project, the residents had conversations with the independent living committee about where they wanted to focus their giving. With the holidays approaching, they discussed with one another how difficult this time of year can be. One bright spot for some of the youth was receiving a shoebox of gifts for Christmas. They shared this was their first Christmas gift they ever remember receiving.

With this in mind, the residents agreed that putting together Operation Christmas Child boxes would be their project. They were excited to give other kids the same joy they received from their own shoeboxes year ago. Altogether, they were able to put together 18 shoe boxes to send to Operational Christmas Child!
