The Home Welcomes New Board Members, Chair

September 12, 2019

The Children's Attention Home is excited to welcome new members to the Board of Directors. In addition to the newest members, several continuing members have moved into leadership positions. The Home welcomes Shelly Goodner into the role of Board Chair, and is incredibly grateful for Dr. Cheryl Fortner-Wood who previously served in the role for two years.

When asked how she felt about her new role as Board Chair, Shelly stated the following:

"It is such an honor to serve as Chair of the Children’s Attention Home board, as I am in incredible company. Maya Angelou once said, 'When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.' In the short amount of time in which I have had the privilege to be involved with this great organization, I have seen Maya Angelou’s words come to life. Our board members graciously offer their expertise, give of their time and resources, and truly have a heart for the Home. However it is the leadership team and staff of the Home in which we learn the most. Day in and day out, they tirelessly help those with challenging circumstances rise above and teach these children that deserve so much more two of the most important values our parents taught us; self-worth and unconditional love. I am proud to work alongside this amazing team and am very much looking forward to the coming year."

The newest Board members include: Jimmy Autry, Lisa Foster, Joel Hamilton, Tony Hopson, and Ron Reynders.
