Junior Welfare League Awards Large Grant

June 4, 2012

The Children's Attention Home is honored to announce that we will be among three organizations chosen to receive large grant funds from the Junior Welfare League. The proceeds from the the 2013 JeWel of the Carolinas will benefit the Children's Attention Home, Breast Screening Source of York County, and York County Disabilities Foundation. Together, these three organizations have served this community for over 75 total years.

For the Home, this award is representative of a long-standing relationship with the Junior Welfare League. Yearly, they provide volunteers and item collections that benefit our children directly. In the past, they have funded an annual, week-long beach trip for our children. These benefits of these alone have been tremendous and rewarding for our kids--especially for those who have never seen the ocean!

This latest grant further extends their support of our Home. With the funds raised (and additional support from the Fort Mill Rotary Club), the Home will establish a portable computer lab / cafe for our children to use in completing homework, researching and applying for jobs, and learning vital computer skills. Once completed, the project will feature 15 laptops, a portable docking station, and a comfortable place to relax!

We look forward to growing our partnership with the Junior Welfare League and joining together with Breast Screening Source of York County and the York County Disabilities Foundation to celebrate our missions and the people we serve.

Our thanks go out to the Junior Welfare League and their members for ongoing support and dedication to our cause: Thank you!
