In February, one young man was able to breakthrough his barriers and complete high school with high marks.

Every hurt isn’t death. Sometimes it’s a catalyst for change. Jordan came to the Children’s Attention Home with the sole purpose of breaking to build. During his tenure at the Home he’s accomplished many things, but none more importance than achieving his high school diploma. “It was hard fought, but I did it.” expressed Jordan. He completed his secondary academic career with a 3.3 GPA. Jordan plans to pursue a career working with animals. He’s petitioned to serve as a farm hand, and will begin working at a local animal clinic. He’s debating on attending college. During this graduation party he gracious offered advice to his peers. He even answered some of their questions. “School is important,” Jordan exclaimed. “You may not like it, but it’s what you need to do... Stay in school everybody!”

Education is a key area of development in the Home's Children's Services Program, a project supported by a grant from Aflac, housed at Central Carolina Community Foundation.
