Children's Attention Home thanks Lutz Foundation

September 23, 2014

The Chester-based Clarence H. and Anna Elizabeth Lutz Foundation has provided much-needed and welcomed support to the Children's Attention Home through the years worthy of recognition by the home and the community.

In February, the foundation awarded a grant to the Children's Attention Home in the amount of $15,000 to be used for food and clothing for children from Chester and surrounding communities in the home's Shelter Program – Food and Clothing. Since February, over 70 children have benefited from this funding assistance. We are very grateful to the Lutz Foundation for their generous grant and continuing support.

Established in 1970 by three local ministers who saw a distinct need for a shelter for child victims of abuse, abandonment and neglect, the Children's Attention Home continues their mission today with the support of the community. Over the last 44 years, the Children's Attention Home has provided emergency intake and residential and development services to over 7,000 children from all over S.C., including Chester, York and Lancaster counties.

As a community-based non-profit, we are only able to provide for these children with the support of the community and foundations that care. The Lutz Foundation really cares about the community's children, and we very much appreciate their support and interest in the children of Chester and surrounding counties. On behalf of the board of directors and the children we serve, we want to say thank you.
