Children's Attention Home Receives Donation from Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation

July 16, 2020
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Children's Attention Home has received $2,000 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation just in time to help feed local children in need. Children's Attention Home will use the gift to purchase food and provide nutritional education for the youth in its care.

“The Food Lion Charitable Foundation stepped in to provide for our children when they needed it most,” said Executive Director, Emily Parrish. “ With the current pandemic creating extra stress on resources, their support is helping bridge the gap and ensure our kids are not going hungry.”

This grant will provide resources to not only provide healthy, nutritious meals and snacks but will also provide assistance in nutrition education to instill healthy living habits for up to 42 children living at the Children's Attention Home. Children served at the Home come from backgrounds of abuse, neglect, abandonment, and homelessness, where food insecurity and poor eating habits are prevalent. While at the Home, children receive healthy meals and education in life skills that will help them build a foundation for healthy living.

Established in 2001, the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding the hungry in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $12 million in grants.
