A Heartfelt Celebration

The 5th annual Deep In The Heart continued a tradition of growth

Not even the gray clouds above were able to rain on the Home’s parade, as the fifth annual Deep In The Heart went off without a hitch Oct. 19.

The event raised over $61,000, according to the Home’s Community Resource Director Katy Motsinger.

“Deep in the Heart is not only a fun time to get dressed up in your western wear, it's also a way for the Children's Attention Home to showcase our mission of providing a safe and nurturing environment for abused and neglected children while connecting with the community,” CAH Social Worker Cathy Bolduc said. “At this year’s friend-raiser, the food, entertainment, and auction items were amazing. I always love to be able to not only volunteer, but be a part of the fun.”

Over 70 volunteers took time out of their week to help the event run smoothly, according Volunteer Coordinator Sharada Abraham.

“We are so grateful for the volunteers who worked tirelessly prior to and during this event to make it a success,” Abraham said. “Many of our guests shared such positive feedback about their experience, and I can hardly wait to see what we can accomplish together next year.”

The Children’s Attention Home thanks Ralph and Elaine Norman, Take 5 Oil Change, the Northwestern High School Class of 2000, the McEwyn Band, McGowan, Hood & Felder, LLC, Party Tables, Daimler, Unique Loom, Blue Rose Pottery, PepsiCo, Ron and Cindy Reynders, South State Bank, Pump House, NAPA at Kinglsey, Plato’s Closet, Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated and our many other sponsors, donors and attendees. Without all of the support from all of these community members and partners, the Home would not have been able to host such a fun and important event.

"It was a wonderful event - the best yet," CAH Executive Director Emily Parrish said. "It was exciting to see so many new faces! The community support for the children we serve is incredible. We are already looking forward to next year!"

The date for next year's Deep In The Heart has already been set. Mark your calendars for October 17, 2020!
