Ribbon cut for new Day Services Program

April 5, 2024

It was a beautiful sunny Sunday in February, and dozens gathered to celebrate the opening and launch of the new Day Services Program at the Children's Attention Home. Community members already connected with the Home and some new faces made time to see the newly renovated space and learn more about the services offered at the Home.

The Day Services Program was started on July 31, 2023 to fill a critical gap for youth in foster awaiting long term placement. Currently, dozens of youth across the state are without long-term placement due to a lack of suitable placements to meet their needs. Without this program and others like it, these youth spend days in offices and nights in emergency placements. They often are without adequate sleep, support, or care.

The Day Services Program at the Home serves up to 8 youth at a time, ensuring they receive the basic care, mental health and medical support, and individualized interventions they need. To learn more about the Home's Day Services Program, click here.
