The Children's Attention Home accepted a generous grant award of $15,000 from the Speedway Children's Charities in December of 2020 to help provide support for the Home's food services program. The Home was recognized along with over 100 non-profits in the Charlotte area. Despite the limitations created by COVID-19, the grant awards celebration was one to remember with a drive-in movie presentation, milk and cookies for all guests, and a special helicopter and firetruck arrival featuring the big man himself - Santa Clause! Following the grant presentation, the kids were able to enjoy the amazing musical light display put together by the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Speedway Children's Charities provides vital support to the Home to purchase food for each child. Food insecurity is a common problem faced by many of the children served by the Home.While living at the Home, children enjoy three meals a day and three snacks a day!
