Rock Hill, S.C. (August 25, 2015) – The Children’s Attention Home received the “Fabric of the Community Award” for its service to the community at The Springs Close Foundation’s annual award luncheon, recently held at the Founders Federal Credit Union headquarters.
“We are honored and humbled to be recognized by the community and to be included with the other organizations nominated along with us,” says Debra Eident, Executive Director for the Children’s Attention Home. “We are also incredibly grateful to The Springs Close Foundation for their generosity, ongoing support and investment in our community.”
The Children’s Attention Home was presented with a $10,000 check and a handcrafted sculpture by metal artist Bob Doster. The Springs Close Foundation’s “Fabric of the Community" award annually honors one nonprofit business or individual from Lancaster, Chester and Fort Mill/York Counties for exemplary service to the community.
The “Fabric of the Community" award was created in 2013 by the Board of Directors of The Springs Close Foundation along with the nine members of the Community Advisory Committee. The award serves the dual purpose of celebrating the Foundation’s 70th year of service and honoring the legacy begun by founder Colonel Elliott Springs of giving back to the community. Nominations for the awards come from former members of the Foundation’s Community Advisory Committee and finalists are selected by current Community Advisory Committee members. The Foundation will continue giving these awards each year through its 75th anniversary year of 2017 for a total gift amount of $150,000.
