Rock Hill, S.C. – The Children’s Attention Home recently completed the renovation of its kitchen, thanks to a generous grant of $25,000 from The Herbert and Anna Lutz Foundation. The restoration efforts began earlier this year and included updated cabinets and flooring.
Since opening its doors, the Home has served many Chester County children removed from their homes because of abuse and neglect. Youth experience neglect in a number of ways, from inadequate living conditions to lack of provision for basic needs, like food and nutrition.
The Children’s Attention Home works to fill in the gaps these youth have experienced by providing these children with the attention and care they need. The kitchen renovations are critical to the progression of each child in the Home’s care, whether they are learning how to prepare a delicious entrée or enjoying a warm meal surrounded by a caring and supportive staff.
“The kitchen transformation has been incredible, and the children are already benefitting from the improvements,” said Executive Director, Emily Parrish. “We are beyond appreciative. The Lutz Foundation continues to enhance the lives of every child that enters our care.”
Through the years, The Herbert and Anna Lutz Foundation has provided vital funding to complete many projects at the Children’s Attention Home, including the purchasing of vehicles and renovating the Home’s dining hall.
