The Children’s Attention Home recently received a grant award of $20,000 from The Herbert and Anna Lutz Foundation. These funds will be used to improve the recreational facilities available to the children who reside at the Home through the construction of a fitness pavilion. The new pavilion will provide a space for the children to exercise, socialize, and engage in group fitness activities.

“The ongoing investment of the Lutz Foundation in the Children’s Attention Home has made such a positive impact,” expressed Executive Director Debra Eident. “We cannot thank them enough for their generosity and interest in improving the lives of children from Chester and throughout the state.” Through the years, the Home has served many Chester County children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect.

Established in 1970, the Children’s Attention Home provides a place for children to call home during trying times in their young lives. Over the last 45 years, the Home has served over 7,500 children, and continues to serve up to 42 children at any given time. With children ages birth to 21, the Home is constantly seeking to adapt and provide the resources necessary to meet the need in the community.

The Chester-based Lutz Foundation was established in 1995 with the mission to enrich lives by providing an endowment to fund education, community, health and welfare initiatives. In line with their mission to enrich as many lives as possible, it is the hope of the Lutz Foundation to make the Chester community a better place to live, raise a family and retire.
